Tasting - Columbia

This week, I also tasted Columbia Winery's Red Blend. This is a blended red wine of Syrah, Merlot, and Malbex that is coming from Columbia Valley in Woodinville, Washington, United States. The vintage year of this wine was 2017. This bottle cost ten dollars.

I enjoyed this review from Vine Pair - "This is a perfect entry-level wine. Pleasant on the nose with aromas of dark red fruit and oak, it's a wine to pour for those who may not yet be able to appreciate fancier bottles, but it may just get them hooked and yearning to try more. Extremely crushable."

Columbia's Red Blend is a medium bodied wine (Wine Folly 14). I would describe this wine as being off-dry. It was not somewhere in the middle of sweet and dry (Wine Folly 16). I could taste the Tannin in this wine, meaning there was a pretty significant bitter taste (Wine Folly 18). This wine has mild to low acidity as well (Wine Folly 21). The ABV of the wine is 13.%, which is medium-high for wine (Wine Folly 22).

I found this wine enjoyable. This wine had tastes of dark fruit such as black cheery and raspberry. The wine had a woody smell, along with oak flavor as well. I did not have this wine with food. However, I believe it would pair well with pasta.
